dose anyone know how i would be able to tell the diffrence in the engines from a standard dexta or a super dexta, other than taking the engine apart?
any help at all would be great

Supers had a simms inline injector pump using oil as a lubricant for the gonenors, while regular Dextas used a vacuum govenor with a leather or rubber membrane. The Supers used a variant of the Perkins 153 cu/in diesel with the simms inline pump. Supers radiator shells were rectangular, while regulars had a more rounded shell.

Go to the Fordson board and ask this question.There are some guys over there who can answer your question.I would think that information from the serial number of your tractor and/or the stamped numbers on the engine itself would give you the info that you need.Folks on the Massey Ferguson board may be able to help you identify a Perkins engine such as the ones used in the Dexta.They used a 144cid and later a 152 cid engine.The 152 i know was used in the smaller MF tractors 35/135/150 ect.
