Fordson Insulator Damage

Working on an early Fordson for a local club and seeing as though I know very little about them I have a question for you experts. The leadout from the flywheel coil assembly goes through the rear engine support casting via a round insulated Bakelite type of fitting. Somehow through rolling the engine around on a stand this insulator has become damaged. All that shows is a single wire that protrudes about 1/4" and there is very little left of the insulator. What is this insulator called and can it be replaced without splitting the tractor? What else am I missing on the wire? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Yes it can be replaced and is the same as a model T ford car. Replacments can be had at Langs old car parts. Proper name is a magneto post. However, there is more than one to chose from so you will need to scroll the page with the parts to see which one you have. Most likely it will be the later style as not many Fordsons were built before 1916-1917. Dandy Dave!
