Hello all, i haven't posted here in
probably 10 years!

I found this while browsing around my
area. Looks like a rumely doall but may
have been modified. I don't know what else
is made of or if it's even real. Might be
homemade. Any ideas?

I understand That. However, look at my picture with the front end on it. What is that? Not coming up as a true tricycle rumely front end.

the row crop version would have a crows rest steering. Rumely built the doall from 1927 till 1931. 3,192 were bult

I know nothing about the Rumley. The way the steering shaft and the front bolster looks to me it might be some one put a Rumley radiator on a McCormack F-20. I'm may be way wrong.

No idea for sure the bottom of the steering pedestal looks some what like a early Farmal. But as 36F30 pointed out it is not exactly like a Farmal F20. There are no brackets cast into the sides and the steering gear is different than a Farmal but that "Y" shaped casting sure is close. Maybe a Famall inspired design.

Maybe a low production unit or even a even more rare prototype.

I think it is a Rumley DoAll that was a cultivator model then converted to "row crop" with the front bolster and steering from a F series IHC. The rear drive is (in my opinion) a Steerable Rumley. Jim

(quoted from post at 21:05:16 02/21/15) Go look at his last picture that sure looks like a F20 front end. IF you look under the steering gear box in his pictures you can see a piece of flat steel that sure looks like something a prior owner added as an adaptor of some sort.

The drop down final drives sure look Farmal or IH. I am not sure what model but google F20s and you will find several with that same looking rear end set up.

Like I said in my earlier post I think this is a homemade/modified tractor. It does not look like any of the Rumely Doalls I have seen. I do have a Rumely history book that has pictures of just about every model ever built and the tractor in the pictures is not one of them.

I don't need google I have them in the shed.
The first regulars had open gear steering, then they were duck bills with those gears enclosed, then worm gear with a smooth case and then the castellated case, None of them ever looked like the case in the pics ever nor were they attached the way the ones in the pic were with the plate and 4 bolts and the shape of the bolster itself is wrong for a Farmall.

The rearend in the picture has round tube axle housings. I guarantee you will never find a Farmall F series with round axle tubes and the drop boxes, while similar, were always bolted to the axle housing and the inside was a flat steel plate with a cast drop box bolted to the outside of it. They are not Farmall

Here is a picture of the very first Farmall rearend, you can see the difference. All subsequent Farmall f series except the 12/14 were built this way. IH changed the seat mount to the top of the pumpkin and added footrests to the axles housing in later years but thats it.

Ok front bolsters, none of the lower castings where they are braced out to the frame rails looks like the one in the pictures.

As for the drop boxes, all F20/30 series are built with the inside of the box being a flat steel plate and the outside a casting, the one in the pictures is obviously not built that way. Not a Farmall final drive. In this photo of a 30 final you can see the end of the axle housing the flat inside plate and the outer casting.

I am not at all familiar with the Rumelys but I am with the F series. I will not try to tell him what he does or doesn't have. But I can say for sure it is not Farmall or parts from a Farmall, And JD Seller Several people said Farmall not just you, I am not trying to bust yours or anyone elses chops, posting with exclamation points, or telling you to look at the darn this or that. Just correcting misinformation. And backing it up with photographic evidence. Maybe he has found something rare here, convincing him its a frankentractor built with F20 parts is wrong.

RobMD, I am sorry I put all this on your post, and apparently I have offended or hurt feelings of JD Seller as well as he has changed all his posts. I think you have found something pretty cool there and recommend you keep doing research on it and find out what it truly is. Good luck

After doing some of my own searching, I think Janicholson is on the right track here, other than the front bolster is Not a Farmall one. But the reared in your pictures sure seems to have steering parts that look like the cultivator type DoAll. Someone did a heck of a job converting it to a row crop. I would bet it's one of a kind, but if your not into that it would be a heck of a start on restoring a cultivator model
