Found it..........

I have several sets of 1/2" drive sockets. A coupla years ago when I organized them in organizers in two toolboxes, one Craftsman set was missing the 3/4" socket. Never knew where it went.

Today I was cleaning out a bunch of odds and ends in a stall in a detached garage, and in a box of various "stuff", I found, ta da! A Craftsman 1/2" drive ratchet with a 3/4" socket on it.

Funny part was, I also have several 1/2" drive ratchets, and I never missed the ratchet itself. Must be close to ten years since we piled the stuff into that stall.

sounds like me, knew i had some parts for an old 16HP briggs horizontal shaft, kept looking, kept looking, gave up. Bought a parts engine, finished up job. Month ago going thru boxes with Christmas lights, etc, had piled some on top of a tote full of my parts, geeesh -maybe in 3-4 years a might need them again

Tools have a magical life of their own and can disappear and reappear at will. Back in 1986 I moved out of Minnesota for a couple of years to get some schooling in Wisconsin. I took along a brand-new Craftsman hammer. Couldn't find it when I unpacked and had to buy a replacement. Found it again after two years when I was packing up to move back to Minnesota. Packed it up and, 25 years later, haven't seen it again. I know somewhere in a cardboard box of stuff is a brand-new Craftsman hammer waiting for my heirs to uncover.

I mentioned quite a while back to the guy I work with that his toolbox had a drawer open and a nice T-handle Allen wrench was gone. Never could find it. Now that we've got the curtain closed on the shop and he's working on stuff I mentioned a bow case. He opened it to see what kind of bow it was, and there was is allen wrench.

He ordered a new one from the snap-off man the day before.

I built 2 float beds for tobacco plants 1 time and lost a crowbar. I also built a garage about a year later. I always thought I lost the crowbar in the rafters or somewhere in building the garage. When I tore the float beds apart several years later (no longer using them), I had several layers of plastic to get rid of. So I rolled it all up, but it made a big wide wad so I decided to cut the plastic with my chain saw. Well I found my crowbar with my saw inside all that plastic, about as rusty as could be! Mark
