Found nice CASE disk

I had been sort of looking for a 10 foot disk to pull with the DC and CC just to have something to give them a work out once in a while. I came across this model S at the estate of a fellow CASE collector, for being the better part of 70 years old it is in remarkably good shape, no breaks or welds, the gangs all turn freely, and the zeros all take grease, the only significant problems are a broken blade, and the hitch is badly worn, that should be an easy fix. It will be fun to see how well it works.

We had disc like that. I liked how hitch moved when lowered . Sharp paint on it yet ,

Hopefully pictures and videos with both the CC and DC will be coming as time permits! Yes the paint is in good shape for its age, it must have been stored inside most of its life and decent care taken of it as there are no repair welds on it and all of the grease zerks show signs of use. It will be interesting to see how the lift linkage works on it.

Any idea on the weight? Does not appear to need added wt. Loam soil in Melbourne?

I'd guess 1000-1500 lbs, it's not a heavy disk but will be just right for what we want to do. My sons and I got a little time to play tractors this afternoon, it was a little wet but worked pretty well. We hope to make a video of it shortly,

I guessed wrong, actually it weighs 1868 lbs according to the manual. It is a clay loam soil, it was a bit wet but with the whole rig being pretty light and not super aggressive and disking cornstalks it worked pretty well, I think a modern disk would have had problems with the moisture.The hitch works fine seems to do a nice level job, it needed to be leveled up a little and the crank for the leveling adjustment was stuck and I didn't have anything to persuade it with me, the rebuild on the clevis part of the hitch lets it travel nicely on the road.

Stalks are hard to cut, we had a Burch disk , notched in front, smooth in rear,
Your disc, is a finishing disk, they were very good ,, we pulled a drag for final pass,
