Found problem to Super C will not rev up.

Thanks for all the info for the post I done on Oct. 22. (Super C will not rev up.) I Tore off the Governor on my 54 Super C this afternoon and found the Thrust Bearing was set up on the shaft. I only live 23 miles from Steiner tractor parts store, so I drove over there and bought a few parts. Thrust Bearing, Rockshaft Bushing, Seal, & Spring. The Spring I bought is for a Super C tractor, but the Engine must have been replaced before I bought it, (Governor Housing has an oil cap), I believe the engine came off a 240 tractor.?.?.? The Spring I bought is longer & smaller in dia. (13 loops ), than the one in the Gov. housing (9 Loops). If I used the new spring will work OK, or should I return it and buy the spring for a 240 Governor? ( All the other parts are interchangeable )

The 240 governor spring will give a higher full throttle RPM.

The 1.96 )13 loops) will give you around 1815 rpm, you will be fine ,what a super c is designed for (1815).
Check the radius contact of the rockshaft lever that moves off the thrust bearing . If there are flats worn on it , It will need to be built up and new radius
regenerated. The response wont be right if you leave with worn . Really notice it on belt work or plowing hard soil.

When I was redoing my governor on my Super C a few years back, someone on here suggested I put the next spring down that fits a 504. Since I
tractor pull mine sometimes, it helped it preform much better.

How many RPM are you running?
