After the trial run after getting one of the hubs shafts rebuilt today I was going over it and found one of the seed tubes is bent and the inside wore off. I think I can fix this with a torch and a piece of scrap stain less steel to weld on it.
I noticed in the book how to level it and set the depth. Now with the discs set the way they are it seam to me that the back row will plant shallower then the front set. Can the back set be moved forward one hole to get better depth like the front?
With the press wheels holding it as the pivet point it just seams it would be hard to keep both front and back at the same depth. It just looks like it would work better if the back set was moved forward just one hole, Or maybe not. Maybe the seed tubes need to be set different for the front and back disc to get the same depth. Anyway you can see the bent seed tube on the front disc that I have to fix. Bandit

Hi Bandit Can't you lower and raise the yolk on the front of the drill? I had to do that to mine it seems that they are set up for 34" tires and if you have 38" on back you have to change it to level it. Yes I think you can repair that tube just like you said. Also I think you could make new tubes fairly easy. Hope this helps you out. Frank

This is one of those things I found on the trial run. The adjuster I have figured out how to set the depth. This is how I found out how hard some of this ground is, Some of the ground I was testing on it was going in about 2" and ware it was packed down about an inch so I still have too get it set right when I start planting. Right now I am checking everything out getting all the little things done so it ready to plant if it ever stops raining long enough to plant. This is the a first time with a no till drill so it a learning process. There calling for rain everyday for the next week again. Bandit

Sorry Bandit but I just saw where you said you leave the tires on the ground while planting. I think the book calls for the tires up all the way and to adjust the depth at the adjuster on the tongue. I'm sorry I didn't notice this earlier as you are probably all done but you try it next time. Frank
