Front Axel question

A few days ago I posted pictures of my center axle cracks and found out my 8n has a 9n front end. This site has a new one they say will fit both the 8n and 9n,

Front Axle Assy W Bushing - For models 9N, 2N, 8N, NAA, Jubilee, 600, 800, 2000(WManual 7-57PS 55), 4000(WManual 7-57PS 55). This axle is for models that have a standard front end (NOT for adjustable axle). Replaces NAA3010B2.

The 9n has a radius bolt in the axle extensions but the 8n has the radius arm connecting to the center axle with the radius pin. Will this part work, the salesman on this site says yes, but I wondered if anyone had tried to match them up. Buying a whole 8n front end is too costly, but I would like to have a new one or good used. thanks for your replys.

Isn't that just about one of the best questions I have ever seen on here, and first I will say that I don't have a clue.

Now lets mull it over...

You will still have the 9N axel extensions, that accept the 9N radius arms, and pins, that bolt to the axels.

You will also have the new axel, that is said to work with both, and should be configured for even the 8N radius arms, and should be configured to bolt the 9N extensions to it.

If they say it will work, I have no reason to believe that it won't.

JMO, and do not base your decision on it.

But still a great question, I have not noticed the axel for sale on here, but I will try to remember to look that up.

8n-charley,Like I said Mine was cracked just like yours. It welded up really good with my mig welder.I dont beleve it will ever crack on top again. If I remember right I bent the left radius rod years ago in a deep ditch when bush hogging. That bent the axle way back on the left side and caused it to crack. But I really didn't notice it cracked at the time. That was 35 years ago are so.I found one on Ebay if you cant find the correct one.
9N 2N Axle

Well charley....I would say the folks that sell on this site should know so I would trust them. As I have stated before the customer service they have provided me has been excellent. I suspect if you receive it and don't like what they sent you could return it. Your risk is shipping costs which might be high for the axle.

Now if it was mine I would take the MIG to it first. JMHO
