Front axle pivot pin removal

I'd like to hear your ideas on removing the threaded pivot pin on my 860. It seems to be seized up pretty good and I've soaked it with penetrating oil and applied heat to it but no luck so far. I'd like to know what the extreme measures would be as a last resort also if it gets to that point. Any ideas or tricks?

Have you jacked up the tractor with a jack under the axle support to take pressure off of the front axle?

The pin on my 850 was the same. I made a tool that fits perfectly between the dog ears using a piece of steel and welding a large nut to its center. Using heat and a breaker bar with a cheater, I was able to break it loose.

My pin is rusted on the front around the snap ring on the end of the pin and I have not been able to to get it loose. I made the tool to fit between the dog ears but have not had luck with that either. I did jack up the tractor to take the pressure off of the pin also.

I removed mine with a pipe wrench. Have you checked to see if it's welded on?

Many of these tractors have had the pivot pins tack welded to prevent the pins from turning out. If this is the case it may be necessary to remove the axle and axle support and cut the pin or grind away the welds.
