Front end blade ?'s

Been looking into the front end blades for my 8n to push snow. Looking at pictures from this site it looks like the belly bracket mounts to the rear axles.
1) Where/How dos the front mount? Front axles?
2) Who all made these? dearborn/arps
3) Anyone make their own?
4)Is this hard on the front end or does the main force on the rear axles?
5) cost.. hadn"t really seen any for sell yet but what the going price?

Thanks...

Look in the archives for "CJ in Michigan".

I sold him a rear lift blade that had an undermount bracket and he posted some good pictures once.

dkn---here is my Dearborn----yes, there are folks that have made very useful front blades.

This is an original front bracket setup..

These are original frame and rear brackets and how they hook up to the axle and lift arms...

Arps made one using different mounting brackets/frame, etc.

The cables hold all the front end weight to the front axles...the rear axles really do not support much weight as the lift arms "pull" the cables, which in turn "lift" the front up, so there is considerable tension on the cables.

If you can find one, prices will range from $400 to $600 depending on condition, completeness, etc.

Since I bought this one a few years back, I have been able to locate a set of NOS cables, and some extra NOS pulleys....they are around, just keep looking.
