Front End Loader Allison Chalmers 6060

Hello all, I am new to the world of tractors, and I just purchased an Allison Chalmers 6060 tractor, I would like to add a front end loader (bucket) to the tractor does anyone know where I can acquire one. I have seem many for sale, but not the same make as the tractor. Are they all compatible? If not what type should I look for and where can I purchase one? Any assistance would be great!! thank you

Look for a Westendorf or Woods-Du-al, they should have mounting kits for Allis. You may find an Allis loader, but will probably have better luck finding an aftermarket loader. Post over on the Allis forum (allis chalmers dot com)

The Allis model 500 loader would be the one Allis made if you could find one , Allied loaders and other makes are not that hard to make fit ,any welding shop would be able to fit a loader on .

Yes buhler-allied would probably have mounts also....

Glad you posted back- good on ya. I was prepared to post, "Well, look on the bright side, at least its not an Alice Chambers."

As others have said, not much chance of finding an Allis Chalmers loader- most were aftermarket, even when new. You'd be lucky indeed to find any loader with proper mounting brackets for your tractor- they'll probably have to be fabbed up, which isn't a huge deal for a competent machine shop.

Allison? I thought that her real name was Alice Chalmers! One can learn a lot by reading the posts on this site.

I would recommend contacting Goodrich Auctions as they have a big inventory of tractor parts and loaders. See his post below or google Goodrich Auctions. I have no connection to that business but they do have a big auction on Saturday that will have hundreds of tractors and implements for sale. I might see you there.

You might try Meridian Equipment in Bellingham, WA- (360) 398-2141. They do a lot of AC stuff (used to be an AC dealer, I think).

Just FYI, loaders are generally NOT compatible. They are made for a specific tractor, or series of tractors, or have mounting brackets to fit specific tractors.

So, you can't just buy any loader that pops up on Craigslist and expect it to bolt on to your tractor.

If you can weld your own brackets and figure out how to mount the loader, most any loader will work.

If you absolutely must be able to install the loader without making modifications, then you must find a loader that was removed from the exact same tractor. This could take a while if you are looking at used loaders.

If time is of the essence and cost is no concern, you can still purchase brand new loaders to fit your tractor. Just go to any local equipment dealer that sells any of the brands previously mentioned, and open your checkbook.

Oh that is cool, how much are you asking for it, does it have everything associated with the loader, and was it functioning properly.
