front end loader grease

I was wanting a recommendation for grease for my loader for the 3400 ford tractor. I am out of the red tractor supply grease that I use for greasing other tractor fittings. Was just wondering if there is any difference in grease to be used for the front end loader.

There are several types of grease...

grease for use around water has the "noble metal" lubricants to prevent corrosion. Not the best but good for boats and continuous wet applications like boat trailer axles.

Grease for heavy pressure has lots of moly and hp additives. Usually a black grease.

Lithium based grease... normal grease for most applications can be red, blue or green. general duty, good for most all applications, except water or high pressure.

Loader grease could use about any of the above. so use what ever is in your grease gun for this application. I dont have boats around so.....

The owner's manual for my Kubota says to use a good EP (extreme pressure) Moly grease for the loader and backhoe, so that's what I keep in my grease gun and use for everything. It's probably more than I need for most of the rest of my needs, but it keeps me from having to stock multiple types of grease.

E.P. grease is better than cheap grease.
Any grease is better than no grease.

OK its E.P. with moly for the front end loader... I had no idea there was a difference. Thanks for the tutorial Rick B, Sean and sotxbill.
