Front end swap

Good Morning Forum Chums!
I’m still getting to know my new to me John Deere 3010 narrow front Tractor…. It’s a 1962 and I found a wide front end off of 4010…. I’m not sure of the year. I wondered if I could swap out the narrow for the wide…. The 4010 front end was obviously repaired at one point…. Any input would be greatly appreciated as always!
Cheers,
Ed

Yes a wide front axle from any 10 or 20 series rowcrop tractor will fit same model with tricycle front end. I supervised swapping out many front axles when I was employed at JD tractors when 3020/4020 were new. That welding ""dobber job"" appears that it could have been performed better.

Not sure that it has been repaired.
The welds always looks very big, andnot very smooth n those axles. This washefore robotic welding.
Most repairs involve an extra welded gusset
