i got this tractor a couple months ago. im using it primarily for mowing, brush hogging. i recently got a 5 ft woods finish mower, and when i have the mower lifted, i have little steering ability. id like to add some weight to the front end, it does not have a place to add weights, should i weight the tires, or fab some bars up front for some weights?

I had a similar problem and added a front bumper and hung the small John Deere suitcase weights on it.

i thought some minimal fabrication would do the trick. either some flat bar or cold roll up front to hang some weights on. i dont think ill need much, 100lbs or so.

The bumper and 2 small weights are probably about 100 pounds.

The original optional bumper weighed 30 lbs. or so and the two weights for it were 100 lbs. each.

If you want to be cool and hang with the
big boys you gotta have an original Ford
bumper and weights :)
The bumper weighs about 40 lbs and the
weights are about 80 lbs each.
Phots of a good friend of mine on my 3000
and a side view showing the very hard to
find extra support brackets.
