I apologize if I didn't make myself clear in asking the question are the gears inchageable I want to leave the 740 as is I don't want to change the entire front end.

not sure just what you are wanting to do.

if you have a 740 and it still has it's oem 1 piece front pedistal and NF, and you want to go to a wf, then you will have to find an aftermarket swartz wide front to fit.. OR swap in a 2 piece pedistal setup , and then get the lower wf piece that fits the 2 piece upper

You state your 700 NF is worn out and you can replace/repair with parts from a newer 2 piece one.
I don't think many of the parts from a newer 2 piece - be it wide or narrow - will interchange with your older 1 piece. The entire front end should interchange however.

I agree.. I don't think the sector is the same.. and the drop shaft sure ain't :)

the 1 piece pedistal sector is NCB33525B

the 2 piece pedistal sector is 310125

the singe pice pedistal sector states it is only for the solid pedistal model.

the drop shaft would be obviously different too.
