front loader

trouble all started when i sheared the 1/2"fitting
on forward hydraulic pump,removed front plate from
pump and replaced broken fitiing w/new fitting,
reassembled pump and added 4 gals of hyd
fluid.started engine,and the loader would not lift
or tilt...any help would be appreciated

Exact model of your tractor would help someone who might know to be able to assist you. Sounds like the pump lost prime. Do you have the manual? Is there any instructions on priming the pump? Or maybe a piece of the broken fitting got into the system and is clogging things up.

hydaulic to frame reservoir,which has a self priming

You know for sure the pump is in fact spinning when you pull the controls??? Had a drive coupler go bad on my 841 with loader and the loader would not lift or tilt the bucket because the pump would stop spinning when you pulled the control. If the pump does still spin could be a weak pump and that too will cause that so time to check you hyds psi

nothing has changed with the pump,when i crack the discharge hose it spews hydraulic fluid with pressure,prior to the broken fitting, the loader worked perfectly..............leon

Sometimes we miss the easy things. Not trying to offend, but when you took things apart to fix the broken fitting, are you sure that you put everything back together the way it was originally? No hoses connected to different points than they were originally?

That pressure check is worthless since it would spray hyd fluid if it had 15PSI or 2000 PSI. You need to hook up a hyd pressure gauge to the system to know what you really have as for pressure. On this 841 I have the pump went bad on it but still produced 500 psi which is not enough to lift the loader or move the bucket but sure is more then enough to shoot hyd fluid all over the place if you crack a fitting
