Europeans mount more PTO operated equipment on the front of the tractor than on the back.

The easiest way to tell is put the front pto in gear and see if it is running the same direction when you are facing the front output as your rear is as you face it. steve

Probably ten or more years ago, neighbor bought a new little tractor. I think that is a McCormick. He discovered the front PTO turns the wrong way! I believe the eventual outcome of the whole deal was that tractor was not even supposed to be here, and sold here!

My front PTO turns about 1800 vs 540 on the rear so the speed is also a concern.

Europeans mount more PTO operated equipment on the front of the tractor than on the back.

And then they drive backward when they could have got a front mount machine or pull-type.
