Front Spindle Bolt

I have a '45 2N and been working on rehab for her. My latest problem is the right front wheel slaps around some. On top of the spindle, it uses a tappered pin instead of a keyway and bolt all the way through. I can't find a tappered pin. it's 2 5/8" long overall, 3/4" is threaded on one end 3/8" dia. This is not the original spindle, it came from a donor tractor that I have no info on now. Just getting tired of the wheel bouncing back & forth when I have to drive down the road. The pin doesn't look real bad so it could be the spindle that is worn. Any ideas how I should proceed or where I can get another pin to rule that out? Thanks

The donor tractor was a 9N. 9Ns used a tapered pin to secure the steering arm to the spindle. Best bet would be to replace the spindle and the steering arm. TOH, who posts here frequently, makes replacement 9N pins

Just looked, I have a 2N spindle and steering arm that I trade you for your 9N spindle and arm. Send email.

I had the same problem trying to find a tapered pin. TheOldHokie made me two of them. They both were perfect. I had a lot of wear on the spindle, so I had to fill the wear with my welder first and grind it back to size.

I highly recommend him. I'd email him!
