Front Tires for Loader Tractor

Got a front flat on my IH 484 Loader/Chore Tractor.

Current tires are well worn Titan 9.5-15 3 ribs that are 8 plys. Believe I'm just going to replace both since my son seems to run that tractor the most.

Current use for raking, bushogging, and loading hay. Will probably get a lot of use in winter this year feeding hay.

What do all of you recommend for front loader tires these days? I'll consider either 3 or 4 rib tires.

On my loader tractors I use LT type truck tires. They tend to be wider and have a flat tread surface so in soft dirt etc. they don't leave ruts

Seems like on the three ribs I've had the middle rib stands a lot higher than the outer two, and the tire will crack along the edges of that rib. The four ribbed tires are much more even across the surface. Maybe it's just the brands? Anyhow, I like the four ribs, and prefer a ribbed tire over a truck tire for turning.

I started using recapped aircraft tires from Gensco on my mowing tractors because I have nasty thorns and hidden bits of barbed wire here, but they work really well on the loader tractor too.

I had 9.5-15s on my 3010s new Holland went with 10-15s and it kicked my front end up. Should have gone with 4 rib 10-15s as I totally agree with those that have replied that truck tires slip in wet conditions, if I were on improved surfaces loading material I would use truck tires, but I'm off-road in fields.

I got fed up with flats on the front. I use a four rib and they are foam filled . No flats and quite a bit of extra weight. My tractor only runs on soil - no hard surfaces here except the shop floor. Not a cheap date though. About $300 per tire.

Go with whatever you think looks the best. There isn't enough difference in performance between 3 and 4 ribs to even consider it as a factor. I personally like 3-rib on older tractors and 4-rib on newer tractors.

Brand? Obviously Firestone. Talk to your local tire dealer and see what they recommend, though. They might have something a little less costly.

You're not going to find 15" LT-rated 10-ply truck tires "easier and cheaper" than proper tractor tires. Trucks haven't come with that size and rating tire in over 40 years. You'd have to step up to 16", which means new rims, but for the cost of new rims you can get the Firestones.

10-15?
I had 10.00-16 on my 6610 but didn’t like how the front was raised, switched to 11L-15 to lower the front and add more width
Either of those is a lot of tire for a 3010
I run 9.5L-15’s on my Ford 4000 and Farmtrac 555

Called the local Co Op, they have 3 rib Samson 9.5L-15 in stock for $132 for just the tires.

I've read mixed reviews online for Samson tires. I probably only put 100 hours a year on this tractor, not sure if it makes sense to spend any more for higher end tires.

The Titans that are on it are definitely weather checked and cracked. The one that is flat has a sidewall bulge as well. Have no idea on the age of them, they were on the tractor when I bought it in December.

After some more searching, I was able to find some 4 rib Firestone Regency tires in stock online for $150, I think I'll go with them. I've got a feeling the $40 upgrade is likely going to be worth it.

Have decent luck out of Crop Max 4 ribs

My loader tractors do not use rib tires.

My idea of FEL loader tires is short sidewall to prevent squirming and wide dimension for reduced PSI ground contact. I like newer tractors that take this into account, unlike the old Ford loader that I had with 5.50x16 4 ply.
