fuel in oil

My 2-85 White is getting fuel in the crankcase. I'm not sure if it happens when it is running or parked, since I don't use it a lot. Any ideas where to look other than the fuel pump?

Sounds like the primary fuel pump is leaking, common problem with the Perkins 354. Not a big job to change them out, since you are going to have to bleed the fuel lines, it's a good time to change the fuel filters also. Chris

Had the same problem in an 1850 Oliver with the Perkins. Mine cost me an injector pump rebuild.

There are two ways fuel can get in the crankcase. One is the transfer pump, check it first by removing the two bolts and pull the pump away from the block slightly. Let it sit for awile to see if it is leaking if not then it is the shaft seals on the injection pump.

I have had this problem a few times over the
years on the 354 Perkins engine. As said before
I would check the lift pump first. There is
also a seal on the bottom of the CAV Injector
Pump that maybe leaking. It is about 50-50
which one maybe leaking. Will try to post the
part number for the seal later.
