Brake and fuel lines use the same size, 1/4 Stainless Steel preferably lines. The compression fittings use a special thread size too- 7/16-24 UNS.

I read somewhere not to use copper or those copper nickle lines for gasoline, because it does something to something somewhere... I can't remember what the reason was. maybe someone else knows the reason not to, if its even true you shouldn't.

From my shop lessons from a long time ago was told not to use copper as it will crack, it gets brittle and the vibrations will cause a crack. As for NiCop I don't know enough about it for fuel, it works great for brake lines.
