Fuel line

Hello there,
My fergie serial no 167411 (TEA 20) and presently, the fuel line is copper. My question is: is this the original fuel line? And if so, where could I purchase a replacement? Thanks

I dont think they were copper, but, steel lines. You can get brake lines of the same dimensions to swap with. A lot of us has put inline filters
on the lines just to stop any junk that gets by the screen filter.

You are correct; they are steel lines. It s just that I saw the carburator for sale on this site and it said that it came with coppoer lines.
I will go with steel.

My old TE-20 had a steel line but when I bought an aftermarket fuel tank I had to make it longer. I went to NAPA and got a section of brake line. Keep in mind that if you have to cut it I believe the lines are double flared like the brake lines. If you put in a hose type filter that's one way to cut it and avoid having to get a double flaring tool.

An easy way to get the length is to use a piece of bailing wire, form it to
the path you want the line to follow.

Route it as far from the exhaust manifold as practical, avoid sharp bends
as the tubing can be hand bent with care, but get too sharp it will kink.
Try to not have any up hill runs.

Once you have it like you want, take some pictures so you can remember the
route. Then straighten the wire, measure it to get the approximate length.

Nickel copper line looks like copper. That is the line I prefer for brake and fuel line. It is easily bent/ formed by hand. Very corrosion resistant.

I have a few sizes I bought in rolls. Make lines with a flare tool and brass fittings. If premade lines are too short or long, the longer one can be cut and flared.

I just did my TO-20s fuel line. I'd post picture but my laptop is down and I'm using a tablet...........
