Fwiw, I'd be curious to review all y'all's financials if gas being high really sticks in your craw this much. The fuel price signs are just an emotional trigger for most of you. Commodities are just that. Up down up down. Get used to it already. Adjust your lifestyles. Most of you are in your 60s and 70s. I can't believe anyone who lived through the 70s would be this surprised at what's going on. Y'all act like gas should always be cheap or free and it's always someone else's fault. Well, sure it is, but you could probably cut a couple coupons and save the difference at the grocery store, but most can't be bothered to do that anymore. Where's GEO and his Kroeger card when you need him? Wars have always been about resources, no matter how defined. If fuel prices get you this emotional, call your congressman and senator. Otherwise, sell the farms and move to town because a tank of fuel is $10 more than last month.

Or just start a new thread tomorrow, because it's Sunday, so why not? Football and God, amiright?

I remember one winter that was exceptionally cold, 20 to 30 below every night plus a lot of wind. Sometime between 2000 and 2004, I don't remember off hand which year it was. There was a propane shortage and we were paying over $4 per gallon for propane. I was a father with 3 kids and a wife. I was making $8 per hour at the local co-op. That was a rough winter, but we got through it.

N TX marina diesel $6.26. Car gas $3.67. Propane $2.62. I was going to replace my Prius this year. Change of plan. It is back in service. Boat doesnt use fuel sitting in the slip, thankfully. I have a rough Allis D17 propane I was going to part. Now, it will be fixed up and put in service again. I used to be that guy would drive 20 miles to save 3 bucks. Not anymore. Just glad my plane can run on motor fuel.

I thought diesel was high when I put up my hay......................... So, Mr. Smart Guy(me) only buys enough to put up the hay.......FIGURING I'D WAIT FOR THE PRICE TO COME DOWN.

Diesel, around here, just hit 5.99 . Take a few cents a gallon off for dyed off road, and it's still more than what I paid during harvest. Mr Smart Guy shot himself in the foot

Obviously those that have portfolios are only irritated by all the high and increasing day to day expenses. Win some here loose some there. Those that can influence policies are driven by who they think is important not who they say is important.

For those living closer to the bone, full tank of gas twice as much and climbing, every single thing higher every time you buy, there are not a lot of options.

If buzz phrases designed to tickle your fancy are more important than looking into a different philosophy don't expect anything to change. Just keep on paying more and more. Like a frog in a pot of hot water.
