fuel problem 2955

I have fuel to the injector pump but nothing coming out.I verified this by taking the inlet line loose at the injector pump. I took 5 of the six lines off the back of the pump but not even a drop of fuel will come through. Tractor has never been hard to start and always responded to the throttle with zero problems.

Have you checked for good fuel flow from fuel tank to inj pump? It's possible check valve(key 2) is clogged causing excessive pressure inside inj pump causing it not pump high pressure. Try starting engine with bleed screw encircled in red open a little.

Is this a case of just not starting after you last ran it, or have you done any work to it affecting the fuel system since it last ran? How long since it last ran? Regular diesel or bio?

Is the fuel shut off working properly? When you checked for fuel going to the injectors, out of the pump, were you cranking the engine with the starter or using the primer pump?

Just looking for all the background.

Does that tractor have an electric or mechanical shut off ? If mechanical make sure it is in the on position and cable not binding. If electric check for voltage at the shut off wire when key is turned on AND ALSO as you are cranking it. I had a relay drop out on mine as it cranked that gave me fits.

Just to answer some of the questions. It was last ran a couple of days before hand. It started just fine this time but only ran a few seconds before it shut
down. It has a mechanical shut off. all the linkage is free and working properly. I have fuel coming to the pump when cranking the engine with the starter.

It's raining off and on now so I won't be out there fooling with it. I have not tried loosening the bled screw in red at this time.

After taking the bleed screw out (2) I have a strong flow of fuel while cranking the engine with the starter. Nothing coming out where injector lines attach. Pulled line loose on the check valve but due to clearance I can not get a wrench on the check valve.

Can I pull the injector pump and not have any timing issue? I have heard that as long as the engine is not turned that it is not an issue with pulling the pump and reinstalling it.

Well that doesn't sound very good. Is there anything particular that causes this that I can avoid in the future. I only run road diesel in everything.

The 2955 has either 3469F020 or 3369F030. Both can be removed/replaced as the drive has a key/pin in the gear for correct location. There's also a scribe line on the pump flange that should align with the case scribe mark.

Thanks, I talked with a repair shop in Ft. Smith Arkansas. If the weather would cooperate. I hate working in cold wet conditions. I have 2 other loader tractors so I have other options till I can catch a better day.
