Fuel shut-off valve replacement

Ford 9N - When replacing fuel shut off valve is there a recommended sealer to be used on the threads where the valve screws into the tank? I have read Teflon tape. Is all Teflon tape gas resistant?

All I use is Gasoila no tape just the paste. Soundguy use to promote it I found some at TSC (before amazon) so far its worked great its my go to on gas pipes of any kind.

Do not use teflon tape. While the PTFE yellow tape will work, all you need is a little bit of it to break off and get stuck in the carb.

Gasoila works well. So does most any pipe dope. As does Aviation Form-a-gasket Number 3

It's an NPT thread, so don't over tighten it.

The overtighten thing can get tricky when it does not stop where you want it. Back it off its loose so then must go a complete turn.

I use thick teflon tape and wrap the threads 5 or 6 times so that I can go another turn if needed without damaging anything.

No possibility of any tape getting into the fuel system if wrapped correctly.

Never any issues.

I bought a bottle of thick white thread sealer paste at NAPA for my strainers. It has always worked so far.
