Fuel tank liner

Well don't know if it is the latest and greatest but when I had a leak, not from rust, on the tank of my BN this is what I used:

Did not hurt either that they are about 45 minute ride from my house and a got a little bit of a discount for paying cash and picking up in person!

Of course I had to get the Dragon's Blood (Red) version so my tank is color matched inside and out!

*** Just noticed this note on the Caswell Site for the sealer***

Availability:Available Approx Oct 15

Do Not use Kreme It will beak down and make a mess

I have used Red Kote with success on relatively clean tanks It claims to seal rust but I
don't know how bad your tank is

Good luck

Go to oreilys and have them order you a quart of redkote. Its from damon industries I think. I have done lots and lots of cars/tractor and small engines. I have never ever had a failure. Follow the directions and you will be good

This subject seems to pop up pretty frequently on here. There are lots of thoughts/opinions. The general consensus usually seems to be if you're tank's leaking, RedKote or the POR-15 liners are best. If it's not leaking, but just rusty, you're better off to clean/strip and give it a few rinses in WD40 to coat the bare surfaces. Nothing wrong with a liner if the prep work's one right and the tank is properly stripped/cleaned before applying it, but there are a lot of horror stories of liners not put in properly that start to disintegrate and plug up the fuel system. Prep work is key, regardless of brand.

I have an old Fiat convertible I'm running off a boat tank in the back seat, because the PO did a lousy job prepping for the liner. It started to dissolve, and once they start to dissolve it's a huge pain to try and get it all stripped out.
