I have a Perkins diesel in my MF, I use the tractor a few times, and I always pour in the recommended amount of Howes'.
Is it something I HAVE to do, I don't know. But I figure it's cheap, might do some good. I also ever so often pour in some algae stopper, I just do it.

New fuel will grow what is called alge if left untreated. it's not really allergy but that's what's called I've had that problem with my diesel truck only gets drove once a week couple times now I put additive in it regularly

Absolutely, yes use fuel additive on low use diesels. If you have a bulk tank, treat it also. A close friend uses his small fleet for haying, and they sit all fall and winter. I have been fighting bloom in his fuel system, in spring time, for two years. He's lucky that I charge less than a third what a shop would. I have changed so many filter on his TW30, that it should be held on with velcro.
