with two fuel caps on j-d's would you run gas untill warm enough to switch over to kerosene or just run on gas all the time, if you do how long do you run untill switching thx bob

the engine had to be up to operating temperature then switch to distillate. pretty well all these old tractors are just run on gas now. you could add some diesel to the gas but not too much for hard work. as a parade or run around, gas is the thing.

thanks, never have tryed it, probably will just run on gas, it's just for parades/shows no hard work

My old unstyled G only gets run once a year. I usually put new gas in the small tank to start it then switch to big tank that has older gas in it.

The duel fuel is not pure kerosene, it is a distillate fuel which is a different form of kerosene that I don't think is available any more. I don't know how the engine would run if you used pure kerosene.

I have an unstyled A that I've run on diesel fuel. I put the diesel in the small tank because it normally runs on gas, but then I can switch it to diesel for a bit just to show that it can.
