Funk 6-cyl. Manifold install

Howdy - looking for folks to weigh in with their experience. I've finally located a good replacement exhaust manifold for my '48 8N Funk conversion, and I'm getting ready for the install. Head surface is cleaned up nice, got both the intake/exhaust blasted clean and coated with Calxy, AND I've got the appropriate Ford 226 H gasket set. NOW - I'm going to be *really* careful when I torque the manifold bolts, but if it were you, would you use a sealer or not? All my surfaces look good, and I know people feel strongly on both sides of the question. I think the argument goes: No sealer: allows for expansion & contraction. Sealer: Can possibly cause warpage. Thoughts?

My 2 cents , since theres no water ports you can get by either way but I would put a very light coat of high temp copper silicon .

I usually apply it and smear it with my finger so theres only a very thin coat . I have pulled numerous parts that had excessive (1/8" +) beads of silicon inside the ports . Sometimes more is not better .
