fuse holder

Anyone know what size fuse goes in the 630 case fuse holder? I put a 20amp fuse in but it burned it out.

You have a dead short...... I believe the called out fuse is a 20 AMP. Let me know if you need a wiring diagram...

20A should do it, it's only got 3 lites plus the dash. Try a 25, if she pops that you got a bad short.

Joe, yes I do need the wiring diagram. This past Friday I spent hours attempting to convert this tractor back to the original generator and tack drive. My IT manual has no wiring diagram on the 630, and the serial number tag is missing. Saturday on YT I found an old post on the Rock Island tractors built with positive ground. My parts book gives me enough information to determine that this tractor falls within the 6,000 serial numbers. I now know that this 630 is a Rock Island tractor with positive ground.
Long story short I reverse the battery and the amp meter wires and polarize the system it now charges properly. Back to the fuse, when I changed the fuse holder it had two melted wires along with a 30 amp fuse. I suspect something is wrong and replace the fuse with a 25 amp. After running the tractor with the lights on for about 20 min. the fuse fails. When this tractor came to me the battery ground was incorrect and was not charging along with altered wiring. A copy of the wiring diagram would be greatly appreciated.
