I emailed Ernie a Question on another site, he said to contact you...
I'm looking for the entire Fuel Filter Assembly Unit, mine is cracked and
leaks. I think they call it a Fuel Strainer and Shut off. Do you have one of these?
Also...My three point system surges, any idea's what is causing it and how
to fix it ?
I think I have a FX26D, its got a 4 cylinder diesel & there is no turbo...the reason I say I think its a FX26D, is because
it has a FX24 Instrument Panel and FX28D side panels and it was sold to me as a FX28D. Can I put a turbo on a FX26D ?
Its the same motor as the FX28D, right ?
Actually, after reading all these new posts on this site, I think I got taken when I bought this tractor..the guy I bought it
from said the tractor was a FX28D, and since owning it, I found some discrepencies with in the service manual, one being
there is no turbo, the tires are FX26D size, the hour meter and tackometer quit working, its been operating fair, but its not
a great tractor. One thing that surprised me was the loader can lift and haul 6x5 hay bales with ease.
I did have an overheating issue at first, but I think I've fixed most of that issue by cleaning out the soot in the muffler, problem
is...I get a lot of Black smoke when it starts and when under a load and now the 3pt system jumps and surges.
Ernie says its probably the piston for the 3 point hitch hydraulics is leaking past the piston and that Hoye sells a ring kit to repair it.
The Black smoke issue and hour meter tach, will be my next project...
Let me know if you guys have that ring kit and fuel strainer unit...
