Is there a gasket between the blue area?

It doesn’t seem to show one. Pieces of material left when you took it apart? Between 48 and 45 would also be similar? It would probably be a cut your own gasket situation if there was one needed. Silicone rtv might be what some use. Either way most likely you will take it apart and have a trip to the auto parts store

Directly above it is the power trol housing and I seem to remember that having a gasket around the outside.

My A did not have any gaskets. I used a thin coat of Indian Head gasket shellac.
