Gas cap exchange number

[Tom Bond]

Would anyone happen to have the part number for the new vented style gas cap that Ford exchanged for the non-vented one for many years? My local NH dealer found the service bulletin, still active, with the exchange program but he says for some reason he can't come up with the New Holland number for the replacement cap anywhere on their super duper computer database of parts. Strange...

I think the part# is E7NN9030AA but I
could be wrong

The correct part# should be E5NN9N208CA
disregard my last post

I sure interested in this topic. My dealer says the program stopped years
ago. (Messicks)
The one part number that was just listed is for a run of the mill vented
cap. Vented for air to go in but not out. I have gone through 5 caps now
and none will permit the heated air to escape. When hot, the tank keeps
getting bigger and bigger. This is a super hazard and I am sure it is
happening all over. I'm running mine with the hood off and that is when I
saw the tank growing. Remove the cap carefully and it gets smaller.
I drilled a hole in my cap so the air can escape.
Somewhere on this site this topic says the replace3ment cap is like $70.00
list, and has a rolling ball inside so when the tractor rolls over gas
doesn't run out and explode.
I can't believe a program this important would be discontinued with as
many old tractors that are still out there.

While mowing a few weeks ago i lost my gas cap on my 861 Diesel. I have ordered two caps that said they would fit but they didn't. I took the right side tank gas cap off my 1976 Harley Davidson Dresser and it fit and it is vented. You can order one to fit this bike and it will work.

For future reference, here's the part # if anyone needs for the vented gas cap exchange from the still active service bulletin. Picked mine up today. They finally found the bulletin and had to order the cap but they did honor it.
