Gas/Diesel muffler diff?

I see in the All States catalog diesel, gas, and diesel-gas mufflers. One diesel muffler us the best fit but I have a gas tractor. I could make one if their gas mufflers fit but would have to go to a muffler shop, not a huge problem if thats what it takes. Thanks

I would try it!

I used a gas car muffler on a diesel genset once, no problem that I could see. Used it because it fit, inlet and outlet on the same end, stood it on end.

Thank you. I got the gas one and got a shop to make a sleeve to make it fit. This was a real cheap muffler from a tractor supply has heavy metal and looks like original ( I think). But doesnt do any muffling. As far as I can tell. The glass pack I took off because it was too tall to get into the shed was cutting the noise by half. Guess Ill have to lose some HP if I want it low and a little quieter?

(quoted from post at 13:32:13 01/13/22) Thanks, Ill try one that fits then. The glass pack I took off was ok but two inches too tall to get into the shed
iesel mufflers emit more black smoke than the gas mufflers.

Could it be the cubic inch of one engine bigger than the other the reason for different sizes for volume of exaust thru it? Same size engine I cannot see a reason unless different way it is mounted.
