I was told i should run a higher octaine gas such as 110 octaine gas in my farmall 340 for pulling, would this make it pull any better has anybody done this, just looking for advice.

If your engine does not require it, you are wasting money on 110 Gas...
Hi Octane gas will not make any more power than reg. if you don't have compression pressures that require it..

Unless you are way over powering your traction, or you are getting pre-ignition knock, using higher octane will help your competition, not you. Octane is a measure of the gasoline's ability to resist detonation, slowing the flame spread down, reducing power.

i agree with brushhog popa unless you have high compression pistons along with head shaved you are wasting your money on 110 gas bad enough it's 3-4 a gallon for reg 10-12 for 110-112 gas....over octaning your motor will make less power and will hurt rather than help...

Don't know anything about an IH, but in my Oliver S-66 I switched from 93 gas last year to 89 gas this year and turned the timing back 5 degrees and it pulls better this year. The only thing done to the engine is shaved the head and put 3 3/4 cylinders in it. Also a later carb and manifolds. It was just a trial move on the gas and timing that is working for me.
