I have a large gasket I am putting on a JD 70 that the gasket seems to have shrunk over time, is there any way to stretch it back to size without tearing it or would it be easier to make a new one. Thanks Doug

Try soaking it in water and if you can, put it on the piece where it goes using all the bolt holes. Let it stretch overnight but use it before it dries out again.

I use the same procedure except I use gasoline to do the soaking. This way, if there is any residual moisture the gasket sealer will continue to stick to the gasket. Water will not let it stick. Mike
