Would there be a problem installing the paper gaskets on the rear axle housing if the temp is below freezing? I know you have to soak them in water, but will that effect them if they are installed and then freeze? Didn't know if the pressure of being installed would keep them ok.
 
Hmmm, never had this problem in tropical Queensland. You may be better off fitting dry, provided you don't have to "stretch" them, and risk tearing them to fit over studs. This is the reason for soaking them first as a rule, as they often are returned to their "normal" size after wetting them down.
