Replaced the locked up engine with a new complete engine. It cranked right off, but when you connect the air breather to the carb it begins to go dead. We tried just the breather shell without the filter in it and it does the same thing. Even when it is removed from the frame. The engine came complete to include a new fuel pump and we replace all the fuel lines before cranking the engine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Harley

That was our first reaction. However, you can take the breather off, remove the filter and just put the shell on the carb and it will do the same thing. You can blow through the breather shell and feel the air flow. Harley
