The problem with powder coating is it never goes away, no matter how disconnected it becomes from the metal. NOW it's suddenly waterproof, filling up with road salt and holding it next to the part. That's the worst stuff you an have in the rust belt....

The only realistic way to get a galvanized trailer is to buy it new from a manufacturer that has its own dip tank. That way it is done before it is painted and non treated parts are added.

Looking to buy a new gooseneck equipment trailer and one of the leading candidates is Gatormade from Kentucky. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? I am especially interested in their powder coat they use on the trailers.

My guy who does logging/dozer/round bales has a Gatormade trailer. I'll ask him his opinion and report back.
I know he just had the ramps re-built after a few years of loading & unloading his dozer. I think it's a John Deere 630?

Buddy says he likes it. He's put it to work and hauled a lot and heavy stuff regularly.
He says it's a bit heavy to pull.
He says he plans to refinish it next spring as the paint is coming off and rusting.

He is a part-time logger, part-time farmer. Young-ish, probably early 30s. He's a good operator and efficient. Runs his own show, has a dozer, forwarder, and I think a processor (those are hauled on a lowboy).
