GB Diesel help

I was wondering if anyone could help me get more power out of our gbd...we had the heads redone and thats about it as far as engine work...is there any way to make it run faster or get more fuel...and also is there any slowers gears available...thanks

Bolt an HD 800 to that diesel flywheel and will have lots more power. You cannot do much headwork to a diesel. The energy cell tend to get in the way. An intake manifold from a G1000 should bolt right up and help with airflow a little. You could change to G900 or G1000 pistons and blocks. Good luck

Jesse, how many RPM's do you want to run? It is possible to get a fair amount of snort out of your tractor the way it is. To put a Rooster-Master pump off a G-705 on there, you also need to change the accessory drive. Not all of us are able to "Just slam an HD800 in there and go play" either. It's a little frustrating when anyone asks a question about a MM "G" series 6 cylinder that seems to be the only answer anyone has. Where I live, the pulling rules specifically exclude any MM 800 parts/engines. Not to mention it's fun to pull a MM diesel and do well with it, because everyone swears they are junk. Feel free to E-mail me and I'll give you some serious pointers with your GBD.

I would like to run at least 2000 if possible. Would a G 1000 pump work. I already purchased a g1000 intake. How do I get more rpms

The people that pull against this one know they ain't junk and it will keep up with and beat a stock HD800. IT does not get beat often

Take the cover off the top of the pump (to the rear of the head-held down by 4 small bolts) you then should see another 2 small screws/bolts holding the rack/slider. Loosen those and move that slider as far as it will go forward and tighten back down. Make sure to eliminate any kind of throttle stop on the linkage. On the back side of the pump itself there is a cover you take off to get at the governor spring. You can put a stiffer spring or a shim in there also. If you have stock valve springs I wouldn't recommend much over 2,000 rpm or the valves will likely start to float.

I almost forgot one more very important thing: advance your injection timing about 5 degrees from the factory setting-that alone will make a huge difference.

Jesse fuel pump off 705 or g1000 will work but you neen the aks drive off 705 or 1000 you will get115 too 120 hp 2250rpm adv pump alittle we have done it I have GBD DIESEL FOR SALE GOOD LUCK , THE ONLY THING ABOUT PUT 640 OR 840 IN TRACTOR AIR BREATHERS FOR COVERS STICK UP THRU HOOD,THEN THE JD 830 CRY BABYS SAY NOT ORI MOTOR THATS WHAT THEY CRY ABOUT UP HERE IN ONT

Yes that's how you turn up the fuel on those pumps. The 4 cylinder Bosch rotary pumps are the same. To change from the Bosch rotary pump to a Roosa-Master you also need to change the auxiliary drive.

OK thanks for your help! I have a GTBD that I pull that needs just a lil more snort. It has a 504 with the Bosch pump. Under a hard pull it barley smokes. I figured it needs a little more fuel poured to it. Its tough to beat even the way it is. I had a good laugh at the people that told me M-M diesels were junk. I proved them wrong
