gear lube

I am in the process of putting a pto in my H. Since I have the old lube out and everything exposed I want to put new gear lube back in it. What weight was used in this tractor? My books don't say what weight should be used and the stuff that came out was more like a grease. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Page 23 of the "H" operator's manual (OMR2011) tells it. 32 degrees and above, 140 wt, below 32 degrees, 90 weight.

***It also says that you can dilute the heavy 140 weight with 10 weight weight motor oil***, though for how little it holds, why bother....

Any of the 85W90 or 140 weights will work fine in your "H".
