Gearbox disassembly

A bearing went out of my bushhog gearbox while I was mowing. It is a 90 degree gearbox. I unbolted the side plate which carries one bearing, and the shaft, gear, and both bearings came out easily. Now I am left with the shaft that goes through the deck and runs the blade. I removed a retaining nut but cannot get the gear off the shaft. I imagine that once I get the gear off, the bearing will be even harder. I can't imagine fitting a puller in the gearbox to pull this gear off. How does a gearbox come apart? Thanks,
Josh

You are most likely gonna have to take the box off the mower. So that means the blades will have to come off.

There will be some sort of nut or cap to load the bearings behind the blade mount.
