Not from Iceland!
I picked up these sockets at a recent tractor show. Most of the sizes I need in 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive. For bigger sizes I have some other brands.

These are new, never used. Total price with minimal haggling was $40. Need these to get more organized and not be hunting for random sockets. Not much experience with Gearwrench other than one ratcheting box end wrench I found on the road. Any real-world experience with them? They seem like a solid consumer brand, not for professional use which is fine. No one will be paying me to use them.

Thanks for any thoughts good or bad on Gearwrench. Gerrit

I have a set that I keep in my truck. They are nothing special IMO. Just your average box store, farm fleet store quality tools. That being said the quality of the average Taiwan/China tool has risen considerably and do the job well when not used every day or abused.

GearWrench is a product of the Apex Tool Group. Gearwrench has replaced some of the other tool brands in that group such as Armstrong and Allen, which were discontinued in 2017. GearWrench is a good quality tool and were/are given as warranty replacements for the Armstrong and Allen tools in some cases.

I have been using thier ratcheting combination wrenches in a professional setting for 17 yrs, good stuff.
I, too have both SAE and Metric in their ratcheting combo wrenches. They are my go-to's when in a tight spot where ratchet and extensions won't work. Only one of them has issues with the mechanism locking up, but cheater handles will do that to internal parts. steve

And did they come with the 10mm missing out of the set?

Yep, I work in ship repair, so lots of tight spots, they are often the best way to get at a fastener.

The roadside find was a 17 mm ratcheting combo wrench. Rusty but it freed up and I just had to use it. It’s a nice wrench, I could live with a set of those.

i have a set English and metric set with 1/4 and 3/8 drive in it, i grab it a lot when not sure what i getting into the start with. and they stand behind them i replaced a few box end ratchets at no cost.

Never used their sockets but their wrenches have always tested great. I can vouch for the ratcheting ones, bought them a few years ago and work great. I actually just bought a stubby set today.
