Gehl 1400 baler

Hey guys
Weve got a Gehl 1400 round baler we got it last year towards the end of the season. It has hydraulic twine on it. My question is has anyone ever used one before or the Ford baler like it? Our twine arm seems to have some slop in it and it doesnt want to cut after tying a bale. I sharpened the knife blades but we have to get off the tractor and pull the arm the last little bit to get it to cut. Was just curious if anyone had a similar experience with this type baler. Thanks

I had one. Let me think a little bit. Is the shear pin tight? How about the pins that hold the cylinder, much wear on those? I think if it gave me too much trouble, I'd try to bend the arm with the knife on it or weld something to it so the twine arm pushed it up farther. The knife is good and sharp?

Well I did check out the shear pin and found that it is loose. Im almost thinking its not even the right size. The two plates that it goes through have slop in them and it looks like its just enough to keep the arm from moving all the way to flip up the knife. I appreciate the help!

The previous owner of my baler duct taped a block of wood to the twine arm where it contacts the knife arm.

There is also an adjustment t the base of the hydraulic cylinder, but that may be adjusted all the way out all ready.
