Gehl Hammer Mill

I have an old hammer mill that I still use regularly. Well the flighting on the unloading auger gave way and got all
bent out of shape. I am thinking of just removing it completely and mounting a little pad instead since I only grind
into sacks or barrels anyway, no bins. I was thinking as long as I am messing with that I could also lower the overall
height by lowering the dust collector ( correct term ? ) so I could get it backed into one of my lower roofs. My
question is , will there be any problems with lowering that down a couple feet ? I cant think of anything myself, maybe
some one else has ideas ? Thanks, Mike

No problem with lowering as long as you leave enough height to get your barrels or feed container of choice under it.

The one we had like that just had a chute on it.

We were able to lower to bucket height or raise to wagon height. It had a telescoping tube below the cyclone and a telescoping pipe for support. You just put a pin in a hole on the pipe to set the height.
