gen to alternater

I have a 54 super c I removed the gen and voltage regulater. I installed a 6 volt pos ground 1 wire alternater . the tractor was wired according to service manual L on reg to switch,B on reg to ammeter . How do I wire 1 wire alternater.I think I can tie these two wires together on alt post but I am afraid to fry something

Connect BOTH the wires you mentioned to the alterntor's large output stud.
