Getting a 1219 going

Thinking back, it's probably on a tapered spline. I couldn't get mine loose either. Had to rent a very large puller. Is your coupling OK? Mine was cracked in several pieces and oil-soaked.
Havent got the coupler off yet but judging by the rest of the mower im sure shes doinked, how did you fix yours? Looking like ill need to rent a bigger puller too, just stripped the treads on mine today trying to get that gear. Also do you think i need to actually pull that shaft out of the angle drive to change the seal behind the vibe coupler? Or if i just pull the whole gearbox off could i get the coupler off and change the seal from that side? Figure id need that shaft out of the way

At the time dealer price was $140. I happened to find a sheet of hard rubber 1" thick. at an Amish surplus place for $3. I cut/burned the aluminum spacers out of the old one cut a new disc and drilled it with a 1' paddle drill. Laid out the hole pattern in CAD and printed a template. The spacers aren't molded in but it works. It helps to load up the puller and hit the bolt with the BHF to pop it loose.

I was careful to keep things in order. I found a good parts diagram online that shows the 2 bearings and c clip rings all as one assembly basically.

Got the rear roll drive shaft out and i just have to get a good puller to get the end bearing off to swap the seals and that should be good.

Right now im trying to get the angle drive apart to do the seal behind the vibe coupling, but i cant get the gear off. Looking at the parts diagram it just looks like the bolt and washer hold the gear on but is there anything else i missed? Prob just gotta put a little heat to it or something
I have done this. Make sure you put the clip in-between the bearings or when you tighten the gear down you will ruin the bearing. Also get the torque specs on that bolt so you do not over tighten them bearings.

Went and got me a 5 ton puller and that gear came off no problem lol. Got the rest apart and swapped the seal so now time to get her back together. Does anyone know if i need to put sealant between each one of these shims between the main gear case and the roller gear case? Im thinking probly but want to confirm
