Getting Dtmps Out

With the brutal snow storm this past weekend in Delaware, most everyone had trees going over, particularly the Leland Cypress variety. After cutting off the trees I still have the partially buried stumps in the ground. Short of renting an excavator, what's the best way to get them out? I have a 35 hp tractor with front end loader and forks.
As others have noted, we're short of details such as size and number. After reading the responses I will offer one that has worked for me. Again I have not seen your situation.

Don't discount how effective a pressure washer can be to blast out dirt around tree roots. In addition to excavation, it will loosen the soil making the next step easier. Messy but effective.

I have a half a notion to buy one of these. $1399. Free shipping.

I have dug around them with a shovel and use the chain saw to cut low. cover with dirt.
The other thing I have done is use a recip saw and cut flush or just under the ground. let the leaves and such around cover and if you mow over it eventually t will be rotted and you need to ad some more dirt.
