Here in central Kansas we were doing fairly decent moisture-wise until April came around. Only have had a couple rains of less than 1/4" each since right here around our place. There will be lots of short wheat this year. On the other hand, we haven't had to deal with the storms that normally come around this time of year. Seems like all the nasty stuff is to the east and south of here.
Could be worse, though. I drove through western Kansas over the Easter weekend and things out there are really grim; we don't have much to complain about compared to the folks there. In a lot of fields around Garden City it looks like only a fraction of the wheat ever came up and what is there is essentially worthless.
