Gleaner 230

Could any of you allis guys give me an idea how much horsepower a gleaner 230 should have!!

Are we talking a 230 Buda? Is it a gasser or a diesel? Assuming it is a 6 cylinder Buda of either persuasion with the combine governor it would be about a 50 HP engine. Kip

The engine is a gasser it came out of a gleaner combine its not a buda so i guess its an allis engine,, is the horsepower the same as a 230 buda

The 230 would be a Buda. It will look just like the gas engine in a D19 if that helps any. Later on A-C did drop the gas Buda line in favor of lower priced Chevy inline 6's and v8's.
If I remember correctly there was an article in the Old Allis News where someone had put a 230 Buda in a D17 that was originally a diesel. Seems like they went on to say the 230 was producing about 60hp on the pto.
